A bit about my photos
I was a little wary about posting my photos on here, but I want this site to give people a good idea of who I am and I think my photos do that. First thing's first: You should know that I'm not trying to portray myself as a professional photographer. I just really like taking pictures.
Secondly, I'm aware that not all of these photos are amazing; some are partially out of focus, others are poorly lit. This is because, oftentimes, I just snap a photo because I love the moment. I admire great photos and would love for every one of my pictures to be beautiful, but I also never want the effort I put into photography to diminish the joy that it brings me. Hopefully, these can bring you some joy too.

Summer 2007
These photos are from a trip my family took to Australia and New Zealand. We only managed to see the North Island of New Zealand but it remains one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Unfortunately, this trip was long enough ago that I don't have the exact location names for many of the photos.

Summer 2009
In 2009 I did study abroad in Lund, Sweden. I chose to go to Sweden because it is the only country outside of the U.S. where I have living relatives (that I know of). After my school term was over, my mom joined me in Sweden and we managed to meet some very distant relations.

Summer 2010
When I was still contemplating whether I would continue studying biological anthropology, I decided to do some fieldwork. I wanted to work with lemurs (why not?) and after some Googling, I found Azafady. I worked with them for 5 weeks surveying a section of jungle that was scheduled to be cut down for mining.

Fall 2011 -present
While I felt more of a connection with other cities, NYU was clearly the best choice of schools for me. I have struggled to feel at home here but if anything can be said for the city, it is that it is very photogenic.
